The Chevrolet Tahoe is a purpose-built, full-size four-door, family-oriented SUV. A sharp, precise driving feel, Active Fuel Management engine technology, and enhanced safety features make it a popular choice among full-size SUVs. GM's advanced 2-mode hybrid system conserves energy by using an electrically variable transmission, a 300-volt storage system and a 332-hp 6.0L Vortec V8 engine with Active Fuel Management. The Tahoe Hybrid is able to accelerate using only the electric motor.
The Tahoe is available in LS, LT, and LTZ trims in both 2WD and 4WD. The standard engine on the rear-wheel drive Tahoe is a 295-hp 4.8-liter V8 matched with a four-speed auto transmission. A six-speed automatic is standard with all other engines. Four-wheel drive models come standard with a 320-hp 5.3-liter V8 that features GM's Active Fuel Management technology that turns off four cylinders in many normal driving situations.
