Trim Levels (Exterior)
<p>The 2019 Colorado comes in five different trim levels. The Base starts the lineup with 16-inch steel wheels and it comes with the extended cab. The Work Truck offers the option for the crew cab, and you can also get an EZ-Lift tailgate. The LT adds 17-inch wheels and the option for heated exterior mirrors. Step up to the Z71 for dark tinted 17-inch alloy wheels, an off-road suspension, and all-terrain tires or the ZR2 for a raised suspension, larger tires, a spray-in bed liner, fender flares, and unique exterior bodywork.</p>
Engine (Power)
<p>The base engine in the Colorado is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that generates 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. Chevy pairs this powertrain with a six-speed manual transmission in the Base, but if you bump up to the Work Truck, you can opt for a six-speed automatic.</p> <p>For the WT and above, there is an optional 3.6-liter V-6 that gets 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. This option has an eight-speed automatic transmission, or you can opt for a 2.8-liter turbo four-cylinder that makes 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. Chevy also offers the Colorado with a 2.8-liter turbodiesel with 186 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque.</p>
Performance
<p>The Colorado's appeal comes from its comfortable ride and the fact that it handles a lot like a car. It is also one of the more fuel-efficient vehicles in its class with an estimated 20 mpg in the city and can get up to 26 mpg on the highway with the four-cylinder. It can tow up to 7,700 pounds with the turbodiesel engine and up to 3,500 and 7,000 with the four-cylinder and V-6.</p>
Interior
<p>The extended cab has room for up to two passengers while the crew cab has room for up to five. Cloth seats come standard in the lower trims with leather offered as an upgrade along with heated front seats. The standard 6-foot-2-inch bed is deeper than most other pickup trucks and it comes with a locking tailgate and a CornerStep rear bumper.</p> <p>For technology, you'll get either a 7 or 8-inch touchscreen display, Chevy's infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth. Starting with the LT, OnStar comes standard along with extra USB ports, and satellite radio, and you can upgrade the stereo system.</p>
Safety Features
<p>The Colorado received five stars from the NHTSA for side crash performance and four stars for overall performance. All of the trims get a rearview camera and Chevy's Teen Driver system that allows the primary driver to set limits for speed and stereo volume. Addition safety features that are available depending on the trim include rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, an HD rearview camera, and forward collision alert.</p>
