2021 Chevrolet Blazer
The Chevrolet Blazer is a bold crossover SUV that makes a statement whether it's coming or going. It has an aggressive front end and an appealing sporty look, and for the 2021 model year, Chevrolet gave the Blazer several upgrades. These include expanding the availability of the Safety Assist Package, making it standard for several trims, and making the Trailering Package with increased towing power available for V-6 models with front-wheel drive. Some new paint colors also make their way to the lineup.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The Blazer L is the entry-level model. It has 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic HID headlights, and heated, power-adjustable outside mirrors. The 1LT adds tinted rear windows, and the 2LT comes with more standard safety features. Step up to the 3LT for a power liftgate or to the RS for unique 20-inch wheels, black exterior trim elements, and a black grille along with a programmable power liftgate.
The top-level Premier has 20-inch alloy wheels, a chrome grille, and silver exterior trim elements.
Engine (Power)
The base engine for the 2021 Blazer is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 193 horsepower that works with front-wheel drive. The 2LT and 3LT both have a 2.0-liter turbo engine that generates 227 horsepower, and it can work front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The most powerful engine is a 3.6-liter V-6 that makes 308 horsepower. It comes standard with the RS and Premium and is an optional powertrain for the 2LT and 3LT.
Performance
All of the Blazer's engines are fuel-efficient and provide plenty of power for any driving experience. This SUV offers a good mix of sport and comfort, while the responsive steering system makes it easy to handle, even when driving on curvy roads or in tight city streets. When equipped, it can tow up to 4,500 pounds.
Interior
The Blazer's two rows of seats have room for five passengers. Behind all the seats, there are 64.2 cubic feet of cargo space, and an optional cargo management system allows you to easily organize and secure your belongings. Cloth upholstery comes standard in the lower trims with leather added to the 3LT along with heated front seats. The RS has black leather seating and a heated steering wheel, and the Premier adds ventilated front seats.
The Blazer's technology features start with an 8-inch touch screen display, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, OnStar with a Wi-Fi hot spot, and two USB charging ports. Satellite radio is an added feature for the 1LT, and the RS gets navigation and a 120-volt power outlet.
Safety Features
All of the Blazer trims come with a rearview camera, hill start assist, and electronic stability and traction control. The Chevy Safety Assist Package is optional for the 2LT trims and higher if you want to add forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, a lane-keeping assist feature, and lane departure warning. A blind-spot monitor comes in the 3LT, which also adds rear cross-traffic alert, and the RS and Premier offer the option for a 360-degree surround-view camera, a rear-seat reminder, and adaptive cruise control.
