The Power

Both the Chevrolet and the Ford offer a wide selection of engines. The base engine of the 2021 F-150 is a 3.3-liter V-6 with 290 horsepower. The base powertrain of the Silverado 1500 is a 4.3-liter V-6 with 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque. At the top of each lineup, the Chevrolet 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel generates 277 horsepower and gets 460 pound-feet of torque, while the Ford one falls just short with 250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque.

Exterior Features

The 2021 Silverado 1500 has a new Multi-Flex tailgate that you can configure up to six different ways, including as a standing workstation. The Silverado 1500 also has a multicamera system to help hook up trailers and even allow you to see what's behind the trailer when on the road. For 2021, the F-150 has the pro power onboard system, so you can use the truck as a generator.

The Pickup Bed

The Silverado 1500 has more space in its bed than other pickups, including the F-150, no matter which length you choose. The shortest bed has 63 cubic feet of space, while the F-150 has just 53 cubic feet.
