The 2019 Chevy Camaro is built for speed. This model year brings with it a refresh for the sixth generation. For 2019, the Camaro has embraced being a sports car instead of just a muscle or pony car. If you have a need for speed, keep reading to find out why you need to check out the Camaro today.
Exterior Styling
For its 2019 refresh, the Camaro received a different front and back end variation for the SS, LS, LT, and RS trims while the ZL1 remains unchanged. A larger grille is prominent on the SS because of a large bar on the black grille that makes it look like one complete unit with the lower intake valves. In contrast, the LT and LS trims offer a much slimmer grille that makes the two components separate. Other exterior features include the LED signature lighting on the SS trim, LED headlights for the RT trim and a lightbar for the RS package.
Performance
The 2019 Chevy Camaro has varying levels of performance for each trim. The LS and LT trim come with a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine standard. If you opt for the LT trim you can also choose a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that produces 335 horsepower. Step up to the SS trim to get a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that produces 455 horsepower. The ZL1 trim offers the ultimate in performance with a 650 horsepower 6.2-liter V-8 engine.
Regardless of which trim and engine you choose, the Camaro is very responsive and goes from 0 to 60 mph starting in just 5.4 seconds with the turbo-4 engine. The top-of-the-line 6.2-liter V-8 cuts this down to just 3.5 seconds. Camaro operates on the Alpha Platform which allows for excellent drive control thanks to the electric-assist power steering system and rear suspension. Optional Magnetic Ride Control dampers improve the ride and handling even more, especially with the SS trim’s 20-inch wheels.
Interior Features
The Camaro comes in coupe and convertible styles. No matter which one you choose, the interior is fairly roomy up front, though the back is small. The standard upholstery for the vehicle is cloth. But heated and cooled Recaro seats are options to add for extra luxury. There’s also good leg room in the front. Since the back and trunk space is smaller, consider using the back seat for things like bags or packages if needed. For those interested in the convertible, you’ll get a multi-layer power soft top with remote operation capability.
Safety
Eight airbags and a rearview camera come as standard options on the Camaro. Rear-cross traffic alert, blind spot monitors, rear parking assist, and forward collision warning are all standard on the SS and ZL1 trims. The LT trim has them as options.
Chevy made the 2019 Camaro a sports car with a much broader appeal among drivers in the market for something fast, functional, and budget-friendly. Experience Camaro for yourself. Be sure to check out our inventory and visit the showroom to learn more about this Chevy sports car today.
