The 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500 vs. 2025 Chevy Colorado: A Pickup Truck Showdown

However, the Silverado can choose between the 2.7 Turbomax, a 5.3L EcoTec V8 engine, or a 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel engine. The Turbomax comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the EcoTec and Duramax engines come with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The Colorado can only be equipped with the 2.7L Turbomax engine and the 8-speed transmission due to its size. This is the only engine-transmission combo option across all trims. Its smaller frame makes it easier to drive, puts less strain on the engine, and allows it to fit in tighter spaces

Towing Capacity & Cargo

The Silverado 1500 has a towing capacity of around 9500 lbs with the Turbomax engine. When opting for the Duramax Diesel engine, that number shoots up to 13,000 lbs. The Silverado also offers various bed lengths, from a 69.92-inch short bed up to a 98.18-inch long bed.

The Colorado has a towing capacity of 7700 lbs and a single bed length option of 61.7 inches, great for routine light work.

Tech

The Silverado 1500 comes equipped with a 13.4-inch infotainment multitouch system, directly integrated with Google and compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Owners can utilize voice commands to handle texts, calls, music, and more. Optional safety features can add various sensor systems, including HD Surround Vision for several viewing angles around your vehicle, Front and Rear Park Assist, Rear Pedestrian Alerts, or a Bed View camera.

The Colorado comes standard with an 11.3-inch infotainment system, also with built-in Google, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and voice command. Optional packages are also available to add HD Surround Vision camera system or the Rear Pedestrian Alert system to the Colorado.
