There are two engine options for the Silverado 2500: a 6.6L V8 gas engine and a 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 engine. The 6.6L V8 gas engine comes standard on all trims, providing 401 horsepower at 5200 rpm with 464 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm.

To increase your towing capacity to an incredible 22,070 pounds, you can opt for the Silverado crew cab model with the available 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine. This supplies 470 horsepower at 2800 rpm with 975 lb.-ft. of torque at 1600 rpm. Both Silverado 2500 HD engines are paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission.

Exterior

Exterior features like the Durabed and CornerStep rear bumper make the Chevy Silverado 2500 one of the best work trucks available.
