While some people crave coffee, others enjoy a good cup of tea to wake up in the morning or while relaxing in the afternoon. There are several great places to enjoy a cup of tea near Alexandria, Virginia.
Argo Tea
At Argo Tea, sip on one of their signature tea blends made from fresh and healthy ingredients. Try the Carolina Honey, which is a black tea from India that is mixed with honey and lemon, or the Green Tea Ginger Twist, which is an antioxidant-rich Japanese Sencha tea with spicy ginger and lemon. For something different, try one of their Teappuccinos, such as the Chocolate Mint.
For a refreshing tea drink, opt for one of their Tea Sparkles or Tea Squeezes, such as the Hibiscus Lemonade, which is a mix of hibiscus flowers and freshly squeezed lemonade.
Argo Tea is located at the American University Katzen Arts Center on 4400 Massachusetts Ave. NW in Washington, D.C., about 8 miles north of Alexandria. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Soricha
Soricha is a trendy spot that serves an assortment of fine teas from Korea. Their teas are made with fresh ingredients, offered in both cold and hot varieties, and served by the cup or pot. Try one of their fusion teas, such as the iced green tea and coffee cube latte or enjoy a refreshingly cold iced tea, such as the iced roasted dandelion tea. For something different, try one of their balloon teas, such as the Jerusalem artichoke flower tea, or cherry blossom tea. On warm days, cool off with a green tea smoothie.
In addition to your tea, order one of their delectable desserts such as the roasted rice cake, which is made with black sesame powder, grain syrup, and mint.
Soricha is located at 7112 Columbia Pike in Annandale, about 12 miles west of Alexandria. It is open Sunday from 12:30 to 10 p.m. and Monday through Saturday from 12:30 to 11 p.m.
