For a midsize sedan that brings power, style, and sophistication to the table, look no future than the 2020 Chevrolet Malibu. Five different trim levels (L, LS, RS, LT, Premier) allow drivers to choose their perfect fit inside and out. Here’s what the 2020 Malibu has to offer.
Style
Sleek lines and eye-catching standard exterior features make the new Malibu hard to miss. Certain trims feature chrome accents and window surround. The Malibu’s front black grille and rear spoiler give it a sportier look, accentuating its performance-focused design. Opt for the Premier trim for added exterior features, like LED exterior lighting, a dual-pane sunroof, and heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals.
Power
A 1.5-liter turbocharged engine comes standard with four out of five trim levels of the 2020 Chevy Malibu. This ECOTEC engine is designed for easy driving and efficiency, offering up to 36 miles per gallon on the highway. Equipped with stop and start technology, the engine preserves fuel by shutting off while idling and automatically starting again when the driver removes their foot from the brake.
For some extra excitement, choose the Premier trim level that’s equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that cranks out 250 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. When paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and a dual-outlet exhaust with polished tips, this engine is a lot of fun.
Comfort
Depending on the trim level you choose, you’ll have several interior comfort features available to make every ride enjoyable. Dual-zone automatic climate control allows the driver and front-seat passengers to set their preferred temperature. Other available luxurious cabin features include heated seating, leather seat trim, and ambient lighting.
Safety
Nine different safety features are available with the 2020 Malibu to offer peace of mind. The standard rear vision camera and available parking assist system help you park and back out of tight spots. Rear cross-traffic alerts keep an eye out for vehicles passing behind the Malibu while it’s in reverse. The available forward-collision alert system with automatic emergency braking and a pedestrian alert system can apply the brakes to avoid a collision. Other safety features include intelligent automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, and lane change warnings with blind-spot monitoring.
In addition to the available active safety systems, Chevy also offers a Teen Driver system that helps parents teach their newer drivers safe habits. An in-vehicle driving report will show how many pre-collision warnings and other systems were activated during the teen’s driving session. Parents can view the report through the infotainment system.
Technology
Chevrolet’s Infotainment 3 system comes standard with all trims and provides an 8-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. A built-in Wi-Fi hotspot is also available, so you and your passengers can enjoy a high-speed connection even while on the road. Upper trims offer even more technology perks like wireless charging, a high-definition touch screen, and integrated navigation.
