2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500The all-American workhorse has to be the full-sized pickup. Whether it’s lugging hauls around on the farm or construction site, a pickup is part of the setup. Chevrolet answers the nation’s call with its 2019 Silverado 1500, a workhorse that deserves the title. From its formidable facade to the sheer size of its payload, this is a truck worthy of a spot in any business fleet. Discover just what gets the motoring world so excited about this particular Silverado.

It’s Designed for Work

With a payload capacity of 62.9 cubic feet, there’s no denying that the Silverado means business. The Durabed is one of the toughest payload beds in the industry thanks to its re-engineered design which makes it lighter, more durable, and bigger than the beds before it. It offers twelve standard tie-downs and more surface area. The tailgate is also re-designed to be more functional, which allows the Silverado to best their competitors where the payload is concerned.

An Enormous Range

Drivers have the option of eight trims, all designed to suit the unique challenges that owners might face. These trims include the High Country, LTZ, LT Trail Boss, RST, LT, Custom Trail Boss, Custom, and the Work Truck. Drivers also have their pick of five different engines that include the 6.2-liter V-8, 5.3-liter V-8, 4.3-liter V-6, 2.7-liter turbo, and the 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel.

High Performance Tops the Charts

Performance figures for the Silverado are impressive and the 6.2-liter engine with its 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque prove it. The 5.3-liter engine provides a rugged 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, while the 4.3-liter offers 285 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque. The 2.7-liter offers a surprising 310 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque, thanks to the turbo.

While the 3.0-liters performance figures aren’t readily available, drivers have the peace of mind that the ten-speed transmission packs a whole lot of punch when it comes to getting all those high rev and low rev situations under control. Drivers can also expect a towing capacity that ranges between 7,000 and 12,200 pounds depending on the trim and engine selection.

Top Features for Tech Lovers

With the ability to turn its interior into a mobile 4G Wi-Fi hot spot, the 2019 Silverado is undoubtedly one for the tech lovers. It also features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, along with Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system. The in-vehicle trailering system and trailering tech simplifies bigger hauls.

Safety Features That Make a Difference

Long, winding roads can be full of surprises, which is why the forward collision alert safety feature is a plus. This feature gets even better when joined with the low speed forward automatic braking system and front pedestrian braking.

The following distance indicator comes in handy during high-traffic situations along with the lane change alert with side blind zone alert. Drivers will also find the front and rear park assist and rear camera mirror handy in low visibility situations. The safety alert seat is the culmination of all these alerts as the driver feels a slight vibration when these alerts occur.
