The Equinox is the sole compact crossover SUV in Chevrolet's lineup. As such, it's also one of the most popular on the market. Chevrolet doesn't rest on its laurels, however. On the inside, the RS will have black upholstery, red stitching, and a stylish shift knob unique to the trim. Exciting Appearance Packages Drivers will be able to further customize their Equinox with two new appearance packages: the Midnight Edition and the Redline Edition. The Midnight is geared toward drivers who love the sleek, classy look of an all-black vehicle. With this package, the Equinox gains Mosaic Black Metallic paint, 19-inch Gloss Black aluminum wheels, a black mesh grille, black rear and front emblems, a dark fog light finish, and black leather seats. It's only available on the second-highest LT trim. The Redline Edition adds bold and street-savvy touches inside and out. These include 19-inch black wheels with red accents and all-season blackwall tires, black front and rear emblems, special black and red badging, a unique black grille, black mirror caps, and black window surround. It's only available on the Premier trim. Standard Driver Safety Features As of 2020, all Equinox trims come standard with Chevrolet's Safety Assist suite of advanced safety technologies, including six air bags, a rear-vision camera, forward-collision warning, automatic high beams, automatic emergency braking, following distance indicator, front pedestrian braking, lane-keeping assist, and lane-departure warning. Available features include a surround-vision camera system, rear cross-traffic assist, camera-based adaptive cruise control, automatic parking assist, front and rear park assist, blind-spot monitoring, and a safety alert seat. Parents will appreciate teen driver technology that sets speed alerts, seat belt warnings, and stereo volume limits. Explore the Monuments on the Mall The National Mall is a beautiful green area that covers quite a bit of space in the city. It is one of the most popular locations for visitors and home to several well-known monuments. The best way to see the monuments is to see them twice in one day. Visit during daylight and then return at night to see some of the details hidden by the sun. Among the monuments along the mall, you can visit the Martin Luther King memorial. It is on the same side as the Lincoln memorial. The monument for President Franklin D. Roosevelt is entirely wheelchair accessible.  If you plan to visit the Lincoln Memorial, take some time to visit the small museum located next to the steps before you head upstairs to see the monument. Depending on the day, you may take an elevator to the top of the Washington Monument. If you want to take Metro to explore the monuments, you'll need to get off at the Smithsonian stop. It is the only subway stop along the mall. Visit Ben's Chili Bowl You can enjoy meals from around the world by checking out the various food trucks and restaurants throughout the local D.C. area. One of the most popular options for a quick, satisfying meal is Ben's Chili Bowl. There are five locations throughout the city. The original location is at 1213 S. U St. NW. It is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu highlights include chili dogs, hamburgers, and bowls of chili. They have vegetarian options available as well. Ellanor C. Lawrence Park is unique in that it features multiple habitats, including ponds, streams, upland and bottomland forests, and meadows. Other park attractions include a playground and athletic fields. Huntley Meadows Park When you visit Huntley Meadows Park, you'll enjoy fields full of wildflowers, beautiful forests, wetlands teaming with life, and a historic home that's listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
