Thrilling Powertrain Options
Developing a hefty 335 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque, the Camaro’s standard 3.6L V6 engine is sure to impress even traditionalists. Of course, you’ll still have the option of classic V8 power with a 455-horsepower 6.2L that puts out 455 lb-ft of torque. Exclusive to the high-performance ZL1 model is a supercharged version of the 6.2L that delivers a whopping 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque.
A 6-speed manual transmission comes standard on the Camaro and features hill hold assist, a driver aid that prevents the car from rolling backwards or forwards when on a steep incline. When equipped on LT1, SS, and ZL1 models, this transmission includes active rev matching. The 6-speed manual can be swapped out for a 10-speed automatic with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
Athletic Chassis
Nicely complementing the Camaro’s ample power is its ability to navigate through tight turns and windy roads with precision and finesse. That’s thanks to the car’s refined strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension. Its suspension is rigid enough to provide excellent response and stability, but does a great job at absorbing bumps in the road, as well.
The standard brakes are sizable at a respective 13.6 and 13.3 inches in the front and rear. Regular track goers will want to opt for the available Brembo 4-piston front brakes.
Driver-Oriented Interior
Step inside the Camaro, and you’ll find a stylish cockpit with a sleek dashboard design, a flat-bottom steering wheel, and highly supportive front seats with deep bolstering.
